Dr Chris Bulman

Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing

PhD, MSc, BSc (Hons), RN, RNT, PGCEA

Chris completed her registered nurse training and first degree in Leeds in 1983. She has a range of staff nurse/senior staff nurse experience in liver and gastrointestinal medicine, vascular surgery, rehabilitation of head injury, and care of the young disabled. She has also worked as a ward sister and lecturer-practitioner in acute surgery. Chris completed her Master's degree in Nursing at King's College, London. She has been a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing since 1994.

Teaching and Research Interests

Chris completed her PhD, 'Constructing Reflection in Nursing: A qualitative exploration of reflection through a post-registration palliative care programme' in 2009, at the University of Southampton. She currently teaches on the pre-registration Adult Nursing programme and contributes to undergraduate, inter-professional education and research education within the school. Chris has an enduring interest in reflection in nursing and how nurses make sense of, and learn from, their experiences.
