Sue Schutz
Senior Lecturer
Sue is a nurse by background and has worked largely in cancer nursing. She completed a Masters degree in Nursing at Brunel University with a dissertation entitled ‘Giving Comfort to Patients: The Perceptions of Qualified Nurses’ for which she received a distinction. Sue currently runs the Advanced Research Design module, which is the compulsory postgraduate research module and has recently developed this in a distance learning format. Sue is currently studying for a doctorate with the University of Southampton and is researching Reflective Practice in Adult Nursing. Sue is co-editor of Reflective Practice in Nursing published by Blackwell.
Teaching
Postgraduate
Sue runs the Postgraduate compulsory module Advanced Research Design both as a blended and distance learning programme.
She supervises masters level dissertations in the field of Health Care Practice.
Teaching/Research interests
Sue is currently undertaking a PhD exploring Reflective Practice in nursing. Sue’s Master dissertation was a qualitative study looking at the concept of comfort in nursing practice.
